Koen Cuypers started working for the Port of Antwerp-Bruges in 2001. In his current role as a Senior Mobility Expert for the Market and Strategy Intelligence department, he is among other things drawing up the rail transport policy of the port and is involved in several rail projects. He is constantly interacting with the different stakeholders involved in the rail business, such as governments, rail infrastructure managers, rail companies and customers.
He represents the port in various commissions and working groups such as the Intermodal and Logistics Committee of the European Sea Ports Organisation which advises the European Commission on various transport related topics and the Transport Advisory Groups of the European TEN-T corridors North Sea – Rhine – Mediterranean and North Sea – Baltic.
Koen has master degrees in Political Sciences and Business Administration from the University of Antwerp. He lives on cycling distance from the headquarters of the Port Authority with his wife and three children and is an amateur astronomer.
